INTRODUCTION

Breeder Halla with Swedish import Högalids Alisia Alert and
her sire, Australian import Dlarah Ghostbuster, in Stockholm
I know I'm not as interesting as
my dogs, but few words to those who might
want to know who lies behind this
kennel prefix:
I earn my living working as a special education teacher in a comprehensive school.
I teach
children with learning and/or social difficulties who are aged between 14-16 years
and I really enjoy my
job. I have always said there
can't be a better job as a teacher
if you want to breed dogs: teachers in
Finland have relatively short
working days during
semesters and long holidays to play with puppies.
I live in the capital of Finland, Helsinki, with my partner Juho and our
five Swedish Vallhunds
(Lotta 11 yrs,
her daughter Keiju 8 yrs, Swedish
Import Sonja 6 yrs and Australian
Imports
Casper 7 yrs and Puppy-Piitu). It's only 1/2 hours
drive to the city (and airport) but our
neighbourhood is excellent for the
dogs:
we have forests, fields and a lovely seaside trails
for the dogs to walk and run free
and also indoor agility training hall near us.
Most of my time is spent with dogs. I'm agility instructor in our local
agility club HAU
where
I'm also rehearsing with my dogs few times a week. I was also a member of
Finnish
Swedish Vallhund Associations board and breeding committee for many
years
but few years ago I decided to resign from board and concentrate more to my
own dogs
and breeding. I'm still editor-in-chief
in our breed club's magazine "Göötti! while my partner
Juho is doing graphic design
for the magazine. I have received a golden medal from my
work for the breed
club.
My biggest interest in life is Swedish Vallhund and everything that involves this
breed.
I
have owned Vallhunds since 1995 and I bred first Konnunkodon-litter in 2000.
I'm travelling at least two times a year to Sweden to see Vallhunds in big dog shows
and
I also try to visit UK at least every second year to see Vallhunds in
Crufts.
I have imported three Vallhunds from Sweden and two from Australia. My
exports have
immigrated to USA, Netherlands, Australia and Sweden. I'm also
part of Leonie Darling's
database
project team where I'm updating all registrations, health examination
results
etc from Finland and Sweden.
In my 'free time' I'm working with computer, playing with PS2, collecting
& reading novels
and comics and we go often to movies with Juho. Photography is my dearest hobby -
and
horses. I have owned two halfbloods, Karamba (born 1977) and Löwenzahn
(born 1983).
Both have now
passed away to rainbow bridge.
